Surgical services at Sutter Delta Medical Center are performed in the four operating rooms, and GI procedure room. Surgical consultation for the emergency department is provided on a 24- hour/7 days/week basis.

Surgery is performed on both inpatients and outpatients. The age of the patients served range from infancy through geriatric. Emergency procedures may be performed on the Inpatient who experiences a change in condition, as well as those requiring admission through the Emergency department. Elective procedures may be performed on patients who are either an inpatient or who are admitted to the Ambulatory Care Unit as an outpatient.

Surgeons care for surgically related patient needs in all patient care areas in the hospital. During the immediate postoperative period, these areas include the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Ambulatory Care Unit and Critical Care unit.

The most frequently performed surgical procedures include: lap cholecystectomy, lap appendectomy, inguinal hernia repair, excision lesion of breast, total hip replacements, colonoscopy with biopsy and arthroscopic meniscectomy. All physicians who provide surgical services are licensed and have the appropriate clinical privileges and training. Specialists who perform surgeries at Sutter Delta Medical Center include, but are not limited to thoracic, urologic, gynecological, orthopedic, opthalmologic, otolaryngological, podiatric, oral/maxillofacial, plastic and reconstructive, vascular, and general surgeons.
