Laboratory Services

The Sutter Delta Clinical Laboratory Department is a California-licensed
and Joint Commission-accredited laboratory providing Sutter Delta’s clinicians with accurate, reliable, in-house testing 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The department is staffed with highly qualified, dedicated professionals including pathologists, California licensed clinical laboratory scientists, California-certified phlebotomists and an experienced and competent management team.

In addition to our primary location, Sutter Delta has a dedicated phlebotomist station located within the Emergency Department. These phlebotomists are available for rapid lab draws 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Available Services Include:

• Blood bank/transfusion servicesChemistry
• Hematology
• Immunology and serology
• Screening for drug abuse
• Surgical pathology services
  • Frozen section (provides pathology
    information at the time of surgery)
  • Microscopic examination, including use of specialized staining
  • Visual (“gross”) examination
• Therapeutic drug monitoring
• Urinalysis
