Mission & History
Mission
The mission of Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation is to improve the quality of health in Eastern Contra Costa County. Its purpose is to create giving opportunities for individuals, businesses and corporations, utilizing all funds available to their greatest potential.
History
Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation was established in 1977 as a separately incorporated non-profit organization with a charter to raise money for health care services in East Contra Costa County. Governed by a Board of Directors, Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation shares Sutter Delta Medical Center's vision for quality health care for Eastern Contra Costa County. All funds raised by the Foundation support the hospital in providing quality healthcare - close to home
In the past 24 years, over $9.5 million has been raised by Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Through a generous donation, we built the Edna Fallman Education Center. The education center is open to the community for health education and support groups.
In Sutter Delta Medical Center's affiliation agreement with Sutter Health, it is clearly stated that funds given to Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation, a separate non-profit, remain at Sutter Delta Medical Center. No donated funds are transferred to Sutter Health in Sacramento. You can be assured your gift to the Foundation will benefit the health and well being of the residents of Eastern Contra Costa County. In 1996, Delta Memorial Hospital officially changed their name to Sutter Delta Medical Center. At that time the Board of Directors of the Foundation voted to retain the name, Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation, to maintain the link to the past and the community.
