Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation History
The Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation was established in 1977 as a separately incorporated non-profit organization with a charter to raise money for health care services in East County. Governed by a 30-member Board of Directors and working with over 100 committed volunteers, Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation shares Sutter Delta Medical Center’s vision for quality health care in east Contra Costa County.
Over the years, over $8 million has been raised by the Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation. One hundred percent of the money given to the Foundation is disbursed by the Board of Directors for services, equipment and facility improvements at Sutter Delta Medical Center. Foundation funding has helped construct the patient care tower, the Victor and Elma Parachini Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and most recently the expansion of Sutter Delta Medical Center’s Emergency Department as well as many other services. The Foundation also has a general Endowment Fund along with the Joseph H. Libbey Jr., M.D. Endowment, the Prewett Family Endowment, the Richard P. Groff Endowment and the Ali G. Hines Endowment. Interest from these endowments is used to fund equipment for Sutter Delta Medical Center.
