Women and Children's Services
During adolescence, children gain as much as 50 percent of their body weight, enter puberty and face many changes and challenges. Establishing patterns of healthy lifestyle choices are critical to your daughter’s current and future health.
Adolescence can begin from age 8 and last through 17. Sutter Delta’s Women’s and Children Programs have highly skilled experts to help you and your daughter as her body changes from a girl’s to a young woman’s.
Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Services
Also at this stage of life, your daughter may become more active in sports, perhaps competing on a high school soccer or basketball team. If she gets injured, she can turn to Sutter Delta’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Program.
With clinical experts, advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques and comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services, our program provides a full continuum of care that includes occupational and speech therapy provided by California Children Services Paneled therapists.
Eating Disorders
Because adolescence also is a time of increased focus on body image and social pressures, girls can become prone to eating disorders. Sutter Delta is part of the Sutter Health Network, connecting with medical experts across the East Bay including the area’s only full-spectrum adolescent eating disorder program.
Sutter Health’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland offers a safe and supportive environment for individuals aged 12-17, recovering from an eating disorder. Participants and their families receive vital resources needed to heal the body, mind, and spirit that have been damaged by their eating disorder.
