About the Study

The HealthGrades study examined five million Medicare patients that were admitted to an emergency department with any of the 11 most critical diagnoses, which includes heart attack, diabetic emergencies, respiratory failure, strokes and pneumonia.

HealthGrades' researchers examined patient outcome data and ranked hospitals by performance. In the 2010, 2011 and 2012 study, Sutter Delta Medical Center patient outcomes ranked in the top 5 percent of hospitals nationwide.
