Sutter Delta Medical Center, part of the Antioch Community for almost 35 years, is proud to announce a 49,000 square foot addition to our hospital. Completion of the expansion occurred July 2005. As the only not-for-profit hospital in East Contra Costa County, we continue to provide a full range of services to the community. We also look to the future by assessing community needs and building or expanding our services to meet those needs.

Our new addition, on the east side of the hospital and immediately adjacent to the Ambulatory Services Building, expands our Women's Health Services and our Emergency Department. The upper floor of the two story addition houses our Women’s Health Center with two additional state-of-the-art operating suites dedicated primarily to OB/Gyn procedures and cesarean sections. The Center also has 9 labor & delivery rooms, 16 post-partum rooms, 8 medical/surgical rooms and a recently added Special Care Nursery.

The ground floor of the new building houses Medical Imaging as well as a new and more expansive Emergency Department. There had been a clear need to expand our emergency services with the high volume experienced as a result of the tremendous growth in East Contra Costa County over the past 10 years. In 2005, we saw over 52,000 patients in our Emergency Department; the highest number in Contra Costa County and we are on pace for 2006 to see over 54,000 patients.
